Why I don’t recommend “No Fap”

Well… I guess we should talk about “No Fap”.

(aka. semen retention, aka. finally stop wanking every 12 hours for the first time in your post-pubescent life, and be so shocked at how good you feel that you tell everyone on the internet ejaculation is evil)

Like many bro-philosophies, it’s not entirely stupid.

But also like many bro-philosophies, it’s pretty damn stupid.

They did get the obvious part right:

“Releasing” (that’s a nicer word, isn’t it?) every day will drain your life force.

But they also got an equally-obvious part wrong:

Use it or lose it, bro.

We have more energy when we’re exercising regularly (even though exercise uses energy) because energy needs to move

…And sexual energy is no different.

Stagnant, repressed, backed-up sexual energy cannot build and grow and refine and nourish and balance our mind-body system.

And so, just like exercise, the secret is:

1. Not too much (overtraining)

2. Not too little (under-training)

The sweet spot, according to Taoist philosophy, is roughly once every four days for younger men, and less as you age.

Also (just like exercise):

How you do it; length of time, focus, technique, etc — determines what type of adaptation the session creates.

(remember — exercising improperly can easily hurt you)

When you do it; time of day, before/after/between meals, your energy levels, etc — determines how strong the session will be.

What you do in-between; recovery methods, nutrition, supplementation, etc — determines how much you progress you make from one session to the next.

So yeah:

It’s not as simple as “never touch yourself ever again.”

If you want to maximize Jing and build strong, vital life force…

…And, develop control and mastery over your sexual energy…

…It’s gonna take some real strategy.

Elite athletes don’t sit around in the gym hoping to get better, after all — they execute intelligent programs that are crafted for their unique goals.
