“In life, when a thing works better, usually it is more beautiful to the eye.” – Enzo Ferrari
The ancient Taoists were groundbreakers.
Unlike many Buddhists who spent their days in silent meditation, training for enlightenment and inner peace…
…The Taoists combined internal practices like meditation, qigong, and prayer with physical training like martial arts, movement, strength, and cardiovascular training.
In other words, the Taoists were training the total human being — the body, the mind, and the spirit — as a single, integrated whole.
As a result, instead of producing quiet monks who lived isolated from the rest of the society…
…The Taoists produced warriors:
Fierce movers and shakers, masters of the inner world and shapers of the outer world.
Today, we can use that same approach — combining both:
1. Inner Training:
Meditation, qigong, and spiritual practice
2. Outer Training:
Movement, strength, and cardio.
To create a complete program for total human development.
If you’re just getting started, here’s the template I recommend:
***
AM: Inner (after waking up)
1. Cold shower – 2-3 minutes as cold as possible.
2. Light movement – 5-10 minutes to activate your nervous system
3. Meditation – start with 20 mins, work up to 45 and beyond.
***
PM: Outer (before lunch or dinner)
1. Movement Training – dynamic mobility, yoga, and qigong drills
2. Lifting OR Cardio – alternate days (3 lift, 3 cardio per week)
3. Flexibility – weighted stretching
Optional sauna and cold plunge or cold shower
***
There are many ways we could design the program, but this is the one that seems to work best for most people.
If you want to go deeper:
This Saturday at 10 am EST, I’m teaching our Path members the complete program, including…
* 4 more variations of this training schedule
(to match your focus, lifestyle, and preferences)
* Complete lifting, cardio and flexibility programs for every goal
(ie. building muscle, sports performance, spiritual development, etc)
* Specific movement, meditation, and qigong practices
(for freeing your body and transforming your mind)
* How to progress the program as you become more advanced
(I’ve designed white belt, purple belt, and black belt programs to fit every level of practitioner)
* The exact training log template I use to organize and track all aspects of my training
(that also tracks work schedule, insights, and productivity)
If I could only give you one teaching — one single lesson — that would carry you through the rest of your life, it would be this one:
Training The Total Human
This is the foundation everything else is built upon — the engine that drives your development upwards.

P.S. For those asking:
The only way to get access to Training The Total Human is to become a member of The Path.
So if you want in, make sure to join before the class starts on Saturday.
