“I’ve never met a successful glass-half-full person. If you want to get ahead in this world, walk in the room, and go ‘why isn’t that glass full!?’” – Jim Jeffries, Freedumb
Here’s a question for you:
Should we focus on enjoying the positive — the full half of the glass…
…Or, on “fixing” the negative — filling the half of the glass that is empty?
The question within the question, of course, is:
Should we enjoy what is, or create what could be?
Should we accept what we are, or become something greater?
Should we embrace the life we have, or build the life we want?
Of course, like so many of the age-old questions we ask ourselves…
It’s nonsense.
We’re perfectly capable of appreciating what is while reaching for what’s possible, and embracing who we are while becoming who we can be.
The only reason we don’t is because we think we can’t, and the only reason we think we can’t is because once upon a time some fruitloop told us to play mind tricks with our orange juice.
On the list of secrets to life, this one’s gotta sit near the top:
Instead of worrying whether the glass is half-empty or half-full, just shut up and drink it.
There’s more in the fridge.

P.S. What’s so bad about a half-empty glass, anyway?
Only the empty half can be filled.
Negatives are full of positives, if you care to look.
And where positives and negatives meet, you’ll find what you’re really looking for.
