3 Traps That Kill Productivity

“Physics is the law, everything else is a recommendation.” – Elon Musk

Rapid-fire style:

The Speed Trap

“If I work faster, I will get more accomplished.”

Fast might beat slow, but smooth always beats fast.

The trick is to move at a pace that allows you to be present:

You will only sink into flow — ie. the state of peak performance — once you stop rushing.

“Hasten slowly and you will soon arrive.” – Milarepa

The Activity Trap

“The more I work, the greater my reward.”

1 hour spent on the right task will out-perform 10 hours spent on the wrong task.

Never mistake activity for progress.

“You cannot overestimate the unimportance of practically everything.” – John Maxwell

The Completion Trap

“Someday I’ll be finished so I can start enjoying my life.”

There is no finish line; life keeps on going, whether you’re enjoying it or not.

If you can’t enjoy it now, you can’t enjoy it ever, because now is all there ever is.

“We thought of life by analogy with a journey, and the thing was to get to the end… But we missed the point. It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played.” – Alan Watts

Have an awesome weekend over there, and stay tuned:

I’m (finally!) going to re-open The Path — aka. the best damn training platform / community / coaching program in the mthafxckin game — sometime next week.

Here’s where you can get the details before the show starts.
