“Sensible people get paid for doing what they enjoy doing.” – Alan Watts
What would you do with your life if you had unlimited money?
It’s a powerful question.
Your survival needs are taken care of, forever.
Food, shelter, safety, comfort, etc — all good, have as much as you want.
You’ll never stress about a dime again, and neither will your family or friends.
And yes, I hear you saying you’d donate to charity, start a scholarship fund for those in need, maybe even solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.
Props to you for it. The world thanks you.
But what I’m really asking is:
What will you do?
What will your life be about once money is crossed off the list?
Nobody can answer this for you, so I won’t try.
But I’ll give you a hint…
You’ll know you’re on the right path when your answer is:
“What I’m doing right now.”
With unlimited cash, you might add a few more bells and whistles.
Upgrade the house and the view.
But the essence of what you’re doing with your life:
Your purpose, your mission, your craft, your artistry…
Would remain untouched.
After all:
Mastery is one thing money can’t buy.
So I ask you now:
Do the bells and whistles really matter? Do you need the upgraded house with the view?
Do you really want to sacrifice your essence for silk sheets?
The choice is yours, of course.
But it’s a powerful question to ask.

P.S. I bought silk sheets last week for like $150.
They really aren’t that expensive.
I won’t insult you with bubblegum wisdom like “do what you love and money will follow” — there’s absolutely no guarantee of that.
But doing what you love does give you a much better chance of becoming truly great at it — and that, without question, will give you a financial advantage in the long run.
