“Everything will be okay as soon as you are okay with everything. And that’s the only time everything will be okay.” – Michael A. Singer
Welcome back.
I’m finally feeling semi-recovered after an incredible weekend retreat:
Four nights of plant medicine ceremonies and some of the most profound healing work I’ve ever been a part of.
Inspiring, and tiring.
Throughout the weekend I was reminded, over and over again, of a fundamental principle that can be all too easy to forget:
There is a deep intelligence guiding our rate of progress…
…In healing, in relationships, in success, in life.
And our job, if we want to maximize that rate of progress, is not to try to speed it up, but to trust it.
Nature — Life, Tao, God, Universe, Physics, pick your preferred noun — knows what it’s doing.
It’s been doing it a lot longer than we have, and if we think it isn’t moving fast enough, it’s not nature that is wrong:
It’s us.
Pulling a flower to make it grow faster only kills the flower.
We can water it, protect it, give it sunlight and clean air.
But we cannot decide when it will bloom.
In the same way:
The part of us that wants to grow faster is precisely the part of us that gets in the way of our growth…
…Pulling, forcing, straining — blocking.
The antidote:
Trust.
More on this tomorrow…
