“Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.” – unknown
I’ve been watching The Americans lately.
It’s a show about two KGB spies, a couple, who pose as American citizens and run counter-intelligence on the FBI — super dope.
Late in season one, an older KGB higher-up in drops this bombshell:
“I lost my way a long time ago. I lived for my work… Now I miss what I never had.”
In other words:
He succeeded at the wrong goal.
Everyone is in a rush to see how high they can climb, but very few take the time to pick the right mountain.
Years will pass, and life force will be spent reaching the summit, and the view from the top might not be what you think it is.
So before you make the climb, make sure you’re on a mountain worth climbing.

P.S. Worse than choosing the wrong mountain is not climbing at all.
Years can pass and life force can be spent choosing the perfect mountain, only to realize you’ve grown too old to brave the journey.
So, yes:
Choose your mountain wisely.
Just don’t let your fear of making the wrong choice hold you back from putting your boots on the ground and climbing the damn thing.
