“The dangers of not thinking clearly are much greater now than ever before.” – Carl Sagan
On the first day of our retreat this summer, our chef told a frightening story:
In the early 1900’s, John D. Rockefeller donated $129MM (equivalent to billions, today) to the General Education Board.
The outward goal was to standardize public education in the U.S.
The deeper goal, according to Rockefeller, was to:
“…create a nation of workers, not a nation of thinkers.”
According to our chef, those were JDR’s exact words — and while none of us can know for certain what he said, it’s not hard to see:
The goal was accomplished.
School taught us what to think, but not how to think:
Creating a nation of unthinking workers who only think what they’re told because they were never taught to think for themselves.
(ouch)
Of course, this is great for sharp-thinking industrialists like Rockefeller:
Men who move the world with their mind…
Deploying armies of workers who won’t question instructions because they don’t know how.
But for the workers themselves?
Not so bueno.
And it’s only getting less bueno in the age of A.I:
An age where workers are easily replaced machines, who can reference instructions exponentially better than we ever could.
The only solution, as far as I can see, is to finally learn the ultimate, all-important skill, the skill from which all other skills are sourced:
The skill of thinking.
Sharp, accurate thinking that cuts through problems like a precision blade, resolving confusion into violent clarity…
Original, independent thinking that is never swayed by the influence of others, that stands confident and assured in itself, following nothing but it’s own inner guidance…
Unique, creative thinking that puts an authentic stamp on the world, and moves both the thinker and the world towards a higher vision.
Point blank:
The ability to think is the ultimate trump card.
And in the 21st century, there is no skill more necessary — more mandatory — to master.
Which is exactly what we’re doing inside Precision Thinking.
In 14 years of teaching, I consider this the single most important course I’ve ever taught.
And it’s only available right now, until Friday at midnight.
Here’s where you can join us.

P.S. To clarify the point above:
After Precision Thinking closes this Friday, I have no plans to re-open it in the future.
(I plan to keep it private, only for members of The Path)
So if you want in, now is the time.
