“There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.” – Douglas Adams
Happy Friday 🙂
I hope you had an awesome week over there, I definitely did.
Here are three reasons why:
***
The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy
I just started my third run-through of this series, and have once again found myself basking in the genius that is Douglas Adams.
If Rick and Morty travelled three and a half decades back in time to write a banned novel that would get unbanned in time to inspire the Rick and Morty television series three and a half decades later, while along the way answering the big question of life, the universe, and everything, this is the novel they would write.
You’ll find it on our recommended books list, for certain.
(credit to Doug for inspiring this week’s Apple Vision Pro email, too)
Dana White Walks Out On Podcast
There’s a full spectrum of perspectives we could take with this one, with rude and obnoxious sitting on one end, and honest and purposeful sitting on the other.
Both are true, but I still favour the latter.
Dana isn’t exactly a paragon of human integrity, but I still cheered inside when Howie’s ass-kissery got checked.
(this reminded me a lot of Shultz vs Nelk, and what happens when a weak ego that needs outside validation meets a strong ego that validates itself)
Curious to hear your thoughts on this one.
Midjourney
I’ve spent way too much time messing around on this thing over the past week, creating thumbnail images for the membership.
It’s also been useful to explore ideas that aren’t fully formed in my mind yet — seeing an idea played out visually has helped connect dots I didn’t know were there.
(and then, just when I thought I was finally getting the hang of AI, this happened…)

Alright, that’s a wrap.
Tomorrow, another one of our greatest hits — followed by another title defense by the greatest featherweight of all time.
Go Volk!

P.S. A peek at my Midjourney feed from this week…
