11 things

So… The retreat recordings are a go 🙂

Response to yesterday’s email was very strong, and we should have them available by next week for those who want them.

I’m pretty excited to share these with you:

I spent close to half a year of my life creating the curriculum, pouring my lifeblood into this material, and investing tens of thousands of dollars to build and run the retreat last summer.

But nobody has ever seen it, except our small group of participants.

(which is kind of weird, now that I’m saying it out loud)

So this will be fun.

And today, I thought we’d run through a rapid-fire list of a few of my favorite principles that were taught at the retreat.

Straight off the top, in no particular order:

– Purpose expands outwards, from working on yourself to working with others to working on the world at large. But working on yourself always comes first.

– Opportunity is increasing exponentially, and there has never been a more diverse range of options for making money in the modern world. Beware of placing limits on what you think you can do to make a living; almost anything is possible today.

– Instead of asking yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what you truly love to do — and then do it. Because the world needs people who love what they do.

– “Love” is not a person but a state of consciousness certain people can give us access to. But the state of consciousness (ie. “love”) is already within us.

– The higher quality your partner, the more they will challenge your ego. Quality people naturally test our weaknesses by simply being who they are.

– Because of this, high-quality romantic relationships are one of the most powerful arenas for personal growth and transformation; but only if you fully embrace the challenge rather than fighting against it.

– In social interactions, we get what we want by giving it first. To feel accepted and welcomed and appreciated, accept and welcome and appreciate others. We love people who love us back.

– Rather than trying to “figure out” your life path through thinking and analysis (which is endless, because there’s no limit to the options you can consider), listen to your energy. What energizes you, and what shuts you down? This energy is life force steering you in the right direction — follow it.

– Pay close attention when things come into your life without you looking for them; the interesting person you meet by chance, the job offer that comes out of nowhere, the opportunity that arrives on your doorstep. The intelligence of life is always trying to give us what we need.

– In the ~2500+ year old Taoist model, the human system is made up of 8 bodies; physical, energetic, emotional, mental, intuitive, karmic, essential, and source. Most of the western world is actively engaged with two bodies (physical and mental) and severely under-developed in the other 6.

– This means human potential is far, far greater than we imagine it to be. What could we become, if we became everything we are?

Okay, we’ll break here for now.

Hundreds (and hundreds) of little principles like these are woven throughout the retreat, so there’s almost no limit to how long this email could become 🙂

But if you like this rapid-fire format, let me know and maybe we’ll do it again one day soon.

Hasta mañana.

– T
