“If not now, when?” – Ben Bader

For those who didn’t see Saturday’s email:

A longtime coaching client of mine, Ben Bader, passed away last week.

(for more on Ben, here’s where you can read that email)

I still haven’t fully processed his passing.

But I have moved through the shock and grief, and the process has opened up into something more beautiful:

A sharper, more vivid sense of the urgency of life.

The urgency to stop postponing your life…

To stop waiting for perfect circumstances.

To stop allowing fear and doubt to repress your honest desires.

To stop delaying happiness until your life is exactly as you want it to be.

Ben tattooed this quote on his arm as a constant reminder of that urgency:

And damn, did he live up to it.

Ben lived more in 25 years than most people do in a full lifetime.

Because he understood that the secret to life is not to do more.

It’s to decide on the few things that truly matter to you.

And to do them now.

Because if not now…

When?

P.S. A few days ago, someone sent me an amazing fan-made archive of Ben’s email newsletters.

He told me to search the archive for my name.

When I did, I found an old email I’d never read before out how Ben “scammed” me when he was 14 (hahah).

If you’d like to read it, hit this link and type in:

“my first scam at 14 yrs old”

Hilarious and kind of amazing to read.

I think a few of y’all on this email list will resonate…
