“There is no reality except the one contained within us. That is why so many people live such an unreal life. They take the images outside of them for reality and never allow the world within to assert itself.” – Hermann Hesse

Our Path community has been on fire recently.

@Marek said it best:

“I’m really starting to appreciate how blessed we are to have this community so available — we get to talk about stuff like this every day instead of scrolling on social media, what a blessing.”

And I could not agree more.

So today, let’s take a cruise through five of our best posts from the past few weeks.

(the last one — a bonus — is my personal favorite)

If you won’t make time to do it now, accept that you’ll never make time to do it.
by Taylor

I think James Clear said this first. And while it isn’t objectively true, it’s true in spirit:

You will likely never have more time or freedom than you do right now (short of maybe old age).

Free time usually only decreases as we get older.

So, if you won’t make time to [start a business, get in shape, meditate, insert thing you’re delaying] right now, accept that you probably never will.

And, if that’s unacceptable to you:

Do it now.

Why does a fly have a thousand eyes, but still can’t see a window?
by Viktor Leth

Flies have thousands of eyes, yet still crash into glass.

That shows having more sight doesn’t mean you actually see better.

You need to pay attention, not just look.

True understanding comes from noticing what’s really there.

The Cure For Overthinking
by Taylor

Don’t make it any more complicated than it needs to be:

The cure for overthinking is doing.

You won’t solve a problem of overthinking by trying to think your way out of it; you solve it with forward movement.

As long as you’re directionally correct and you keep moving forwards, you’ll get to where you want to go.

But you’ll never get there by standing still thinking about it.

Turning Lead Into Gold
by Victor Torres

The habit of “turning lead to gold” is very powerful.

When you’re going down a negative thought loop or feeling stuck, stop and take a deep belly breath, and think:

“What is the opportunity in this situation?”

Then start writing down whatever comes to mind.

Even if you write a bunch of nonsense at first, you’re building the mental muscle of finding opportunity.

Eventually, your subconscious will take over and you’ll be able to see opportunities in life automatically.

Is It “Bad” To Want A Super Car?
by Taylor

There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting material things (ie. your super car).

To me, it basically comes down to two things:

#1: Where is the desire coming from?

Wanting to be admired by others for having the car, and/or a residual desire from when you were a kid?

(In which case owning a super car probably won’t give you what you’re really looking for)

Or, are you genuinely fascinated with, and deeply drawn to super cars?

In which case, bombs away.

#2: What do you need to give up to get it?

Could that money be put towards a house for your family / college tuition for your kids / etc?

Or do you have enough disposable income left over for a super car, after all that stuff is handled?

Keep it simple:

Practicality & functionality > right vs wrong.

BONUS: Your Light
by Marek

There’s a part inside of you that didn’t give in when everything was dark and hopeless.

At some point you were at the deep bottom and it felt like there was no where to go, but somewhere inside of you was the part of yourself that didn’t give in and kept going, kept pushing, got you out of it and brought you to this moment.

Find that part and connect with it, be grateful for it.

That part is your true self, that’s the real you, your light that can’t be touched by any of this bull***t.

Cherish that part, be grateful tor it, show it some Love and figure out how you can bring more and more of it out – every day of your life.

P.S. In case you’re still hungry (you savage), here’s…

3 more bangers to make your weekend better

Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man
Just started this one, and damn… It’s been a while since I found a book that genuinely stretched my mind, and opened my awareness to a new aspect of reality I hadn’t considered. Warning: Not for the easily-black-pilled.

My Old Ass
The exact opposite of that book recommendation ^ If you want a light, easy-to-watch movie that is flawlessly executed (Maisy Stella was incredible), and has an undercurrent of real, deep meaning — this is the ticket. I loved it.

Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber
Finally got around to watching this. Bangs.

“If I had my life to live over, I’d dare to make more mistakes next time. I’d relax, I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but I’d have fewer imaginary ones.” – Nadine Stair
