“We are taught to discount the inner life and take our sense of direction from the external world when it should be the other way around.” – Toko-pa Turner

Happy Friday.

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these, hasn’t it?

I’ve been in low-input solo-retreat mode for the past month, so recommendations have been slow to gather.

But gather they (eventually) did.

Enjoy 🙂

Andrew Schulz on Fatherhood

The last 12 minutes of this podcast is Schulz at his very best.

(the link above will open to the exact time stamp)

His message is simple and common to the point of sounding cliché. But hearing it directly from someone who is living the experience somehow refreshes the message and allows it to land in a beautiful way.

I hope every young man reading these newsletters listens to it.

The Dreaming Way by Toko-pa Turner

I don’t usually read books during solo retreats, but I’ve made an exception for this one.

And I’m so glad I did.

I won’t say too much about it here, since I wrote an entire email about it last week.

But if you have an open mind, an eye for quality, and an active curiosity about the power of the imagination… This book is a diamond.

(Note: This is a risky recommendation because the message won’t land for those who aren’t in the headspace to receive it. So if it doesn’t hit for you, no sweat.)

The World’s Most Gangster Entrepreneur

This story might not be true.

But if it is…

…Jack Dorsey is officially the world’s most gangster entrepreneur.

BONUS: “I locked myself in a room until I made 1M”

I rarely even click on videos like this, let alone recommend them.

But I did, and I am, because I was shocked at how good it is.

The title and concept is very bro-newb, but as long as you don’t take the message literally and more as a general sentiment, it’s pretty awesome.

(balance it out with this clip afterwards)

Have an amazing weekend over there.

You deserve it.
